Two Indian nationals arrested

Two Indian nationals were arrested in?Chavalakade in the Ampara District for being employed while in the country on a tourist visa, the police media unit said today.
The two Indians had been involved in agriculture work at the time they were arrested by the?Chavalakade police.
They were produced before a magistrate and released on Rs. 25,000 bail each and ordered to appear in court on August 27.
Meanwhile the police said that another Indian who had been arrested in Jaffna two days earlier, was remanded after being produced in court yesterday.
He was arrested in Kopay for being engaged in a textile business while in the country on a tourist visa. (Colombo Gazette)

Flights diverted to Mattala following adverse weather at BIA

At least two flights heading to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) were diverted to the Mattala airport following adverse weather at BIA.
