Protesters block Fort road

Opposition protesters got to the streets and blocked a section of the road near the Fort railway station this afternoon during a protest against the incident in Weliweriya.
A reporter tweeted images of the protest which showed the people holding placards on the road and disrupting vehicular traffic.
Organised by the joint opposition which includes the UNP, the protest was against the use of force by the army to disperse a protest demanding water in Weliweriya recently. (Colombo Gazette)
