The police said that a strict speed limit will be enforced for vehicles travelling on the southern highway.
Police spokesman SP Budhika Siriwardena said that vehicles travelling over 100 kmph on the highway will be fined.
He said that the maximum speed limit will be enforced to prevent accidents from taking place.
Last week a car travelling at over 100 kmph crashed into a side protective barrier on the highway killing two people and injuring three others. (Colombo Gazette)
