Princess Tsuguko (27 years old), a member of the Imperial House of Japan and the eldest daughter of Prince Takamado and Princess Takamado, will visit Sri Lanka from August 19 to August 23.
She is to be a guest at the Perahera Festival, Sri Lanka’s largest traditional festival, Japanese media reports said.
She will also visit the world heritage sites by the helicopter. Princess Tsuguko met President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his wife when they visited Japan this year.
In 2008 she was included as 15th on the list of the “20 Hottest Young Royals” as compiled by Forbes Magazine, the list ranking young unmarried royals by “international Web and media presence as well as family wealth”.
In March 2013, Princess Tsuguko graduated from the School of International Liberal Studies, Waseda University. She is presently working at the Japan Committee for UNICEF, but attends ceremonies and functions at the Imperial Palace and accompanies her mother to some other official events. (Colombo Gazette)
