The editor of the Sudar Oli newspaper, R.Sivaraja has been appointed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the President’s co-ordinator for Tamil Affairs and the Tamil Media.
The Sudar Oli was once known to be pro-LTTE and had carried several articles and news against the government.
Sivaraja began his journalistic career as a newspaper reporter in Veerakasari and he later joined Sakthi TV and Thinakural as a political reporter.
He was later appointed the editor of the Sudar Oli newspaper and holds that post even today.
Sivaraja was also the Secretary of the Tamil Journalists Guild and was a member of Sri Lankan Editors’ and Sri Lankan Tamil Journalists’ Guild.
Sivaraja is an old boy of Tamil Maha Vidyalam, Nugegoda. (Colombo Gazette)
