Indians claim Lankans attacked them

A group of Indian fishermen have claimed they were injured in a mid-sea attack allegedly by their counterparts in Sri Lanka off Kodiakarai coast today.
Outlook India reported that eight fishermen of Perumalpettai ventured into the sea yesterday in two boats from Vedaranyam.
When they were fishing a few knots off-Kodiakarai coast this morning, the Sri Lankan fishermen arrived there in several boats and attacked them with sickles and stones.
Five Indian fishermen received injuries in the incident, the media report said.
Other fishermen fishing in the vicinity brought the injured to the Nagapattinam shore. They were admitted to government hospital.
District Collector T Munusamy and Paunraj, MLA, visited the injured fishermen in the hospital.
