Discussions were held today in an attempt to resolve the Gampaha water contamination crisis.
Public relations Minister Mervyn Silva said that he was to raise the issue with Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
Silva said that if the issue is not resolved soon he will stand with the public and protest.
Tests had shown that water drawn out of wells in parts of Gampaha were contaminated and residents suspect it is owing to chemicals released from a nearby private company. (Colombo Gazette)
