Seventeen newly accredited envoys to Sri Lanka present their credentials

Seventeen newly accredited envoys to Sri Lanka presented their credentials to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s House. The 17 new envoys included 11 Ambassadors and six High Commissioners. The new Ambassadors were appointed by Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Hungary, Mauritania, Tunisia, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Spain and Slovenia. Three more people detected with Omicron variant in Sri Lanka

Three more people have been detected with the Omicron Covid variant in Sri Lanka. Consultant Virologist of the Medical Research Institute, Dr. Jude Jayamaha said that the three people were detected following gene sequencing tests conducted at a local lab. He said the three individuals had arrived from Sudan and Tanzania between the 16th and 20th of December. Change in composition confirmed as cause for gas explosions

A change in the composition has been confirmed as being the main cause for the recent gas explosions, a committee appointed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to investigate the issue, said today. The committee chaired by Professor Shantha Walpola said that there are a number of components linked to the domestic gas cylinder, including the stove, regulator and tube.
