Uganda and Sri Lanka have agreed to boost defence ties following a meeting held in Uganda between President Yoweri Museveni and visiting Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajabaksa.
The Ugandan President and his visitor discussed bilateral relations including co-operation in the areas of military and defence, the New Vision website reported.
The two countries further discussed sharing experience on military operations, sharing experience on disaster and offering specialized training to UPDF.
Last November Museveni visited Sri Lanka at the invitation of his counterpart, Mahinda Rajapaksa who also visited Uganda in May.
Sri Lanka has per capita income US$2,877 compared to that of Uganda of US$500.
