The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has briefed India on the latest developments leading up to the Northern Provincial Council elections.
According to reports, a meeting took place between TNA General Secretary Mavai Senathirajah and the Indian Consul General in Jaffna Shri V. Mahalingam.
While details of the discussion have not been made public it is understood the Indian official was briefed on the selection of former Supreme Court judge C V Wigneswaran as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the North by the TNA.
Mahalingam had said the meeting was part of routine discussions the TNA has with India. (Colombo Gazette)
