No SLPL this year

The Sri Lanka Cricket board announced that the Mahindra Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) 2013 scheduled to commence on 10th August 2013 will not take place.
In a short statement, the board said that the showpiece has been cancelled due to the fact that the Franchisees have failed to pay the Franchise Consideration for this year.
It also said that they have failed to deposit with Sri Lanka Cricket the bank guarantees to secure the player payments.
In the circumstances the Mahindra SLPL 2013 will not take place, the Cricket board said.
The first SLPL was held last year.?The Cricket Board said it will organize an Inter Province T20 Cricket Tournament in place of SLPL and the winning team to represent Sri Lanka at the Champions League in India.?(Colombo Gazette)

France’s top two divisions will not resume this season

The Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons will not resume after France banned all sporting events, including behind closed doors, until September. Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said the 2019-20 sporting season was over as he announced plans to ease France’s coronavirus lockdown on 11 May. ‘Merge tennis’ governing bodies,’ says Roger Federer

Roger Federer says “now is the time” for the men’s and women’s governing bodies to merge while tennis is in limbo because of the coronavirus.
