UNP to decide on Tuesday

The main opposition United National Party (UNP) will meet next week to discuss its preparations for the provincial council elections.
UNP MP John Amaratunga said that the Working Committee of the UNP will meet on Tuesday and discuss about the suitable candidates for the elections in the North, Central and North Western Provinces.
Nominations for the elections to the Northern, Central and North Western (Wayamba) Provincial councils will be accepted between July 25 and August 1, the Department of Elections said today.
The date for the elections to the three provinces will be subsequently announced, sources at the Department said.
