Private bus operators associated with the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association (LPBOA) will go on strike this week.
LPBOA Gemunu Wijeyratne said that the association boycotted a meeting some private bus operators had with President Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
He said that the LPBOA will go on strike this week as the government had failed to increase bus fares.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa met private bus operators in an attempt to iron out some of their issues, the President’s office said.
Among those who attended the meeting was Private Transport Minister C.B. Ratnayake and Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva. (Colombo Gazette)
