The Sri Lankan cricket board said that an investigation will be launched into the behavior of a national cricketer which is alleged to have attempted to open the door of a passenger plane while it was in mid air.
Sri Lanka Cricket said that it was disappointed to hear of such an incident will discuss with the matter with the Manager of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ Team.
“An inquiry will be conducted based on the Managers Report and disciplinary action will be taken on the player concerned if found guilty,” Sri Lanka Cricket said.
The national ‘A’ team player had reportedly attempted to open the door of a British airways flight while it was at 35,000 feet in the air yesterday.
The British media reported that the cricketer was drunk and had claimed he mistook the main aircraft door to the toilet door.
While the door does not open while in mid air the passengers were quoted as saying they were terrified as the cricketer made several attempts to force the door open. (Colombo Gazette)
