President Mahinda Rajapaksa has told Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the allegations against the government on the war are unfounded.
The New Straits Times said that Najib had a bilateral meeting with President Rajapaksa in Tanzania.
The Prime Minister said Rajapaksa formally invited him to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka in November.
The President also expressed his hope that other countries would make a fair assessment of what was happening in Sri Lanka and not rush to judgment based on “unfounded allegations”.
Both leaders were in Tanzania for a Global summit which began last week. (Colombo Gazette)
