Vaas further remanded

Former DIG Vaas Gunawardena was further remanded today by the Colombo Magistrate over the murder of a Muslim businessman from Bambalapitiya.
The?Colombo Magistrate ordered that he be remanded till July 9 and also ordered that his wife appear in Court over the same case.
Gunawardena was arrested?by the CID after he was extensively questioned over the incident.
A police Sub Inspector (SI) and two other policemen were also arrested over the same murder.
Mohammed Shyam, 35, a businessman involved in the footwear industry residing at Sagara Road in Bambalapitiya was killed on 22 May.
His body was found in Dompe after he was reported missing.?(Colombo Gazette)
