Parliamentarian Duminda Silva returned to Parliament today, for the first time since the Mulleriyawa shooting incident in 2011 in which Presidential Advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra was killed.
Silva, who was also injured in the incident, was in April released on bail over the case. He was the main suspect in the shooting incident.
Silva returned to the island from Singapore in March after receiving treatment for the injuries he suffered during the shooting incident.
Hirunika Premachandra, the daughter of late government member Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, had told the Colombo Gazette in March that she feared for her life as the case involving Duminda Silva gathered steam.
Premachandra also raised hopes that justice will finally be meted out against her father’s killers. (Colombo Gazette)
