The big moment for Ivan

Ivan Alvis, a journalist attached to The Island newspaper, Sri Lanka, and a guest writer for the Lanka Times Melbourne (Swinging Colombo), won the 2013 Friends of Thailand Award, in the International Media category.
The glittering awards ceremony was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on the evening of Wednesday, June, 5^th, 2013.
He received his award from the Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports, Somsak Pureesrisak. ?Ivan is the very first Sri Lankan journalist to win this particular award.
The Friends of Thailand award is in recognition of Ivan?s articles, in The Island group of newspapers, over a period of two years (2011/2012), highlighting the many tourist attractions, sites and venues in Thailand.
