DIG Vaas to remain in detention

The CID has obtained a 72 hour detention order on?Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vaas Gunawardena to question him further on the murder of a businessman, the police media unit said.
DIG Vaas Gunawardena was arrested yesterday over the murder?of a businessman from Bambalapitiya.
The DIG was arrested by the CID after he was extensively questioned last evening over the incident.
A police Sub Inspector (SI) and two other policemen were arrested last week over the same murder.
The CID has also questioned DIG?Vass Gunawardena last week over the incident.
Mohammed Shyam, 35, a businessman involved in the footwear industry residing at Sagara Road in Bambalapitiya was killed on 22 May.
His body was found in Dompe after he was reported missing.?(Colombo Gazette)

Danu files Police complaint against Pushpika

Daily Mirror presenter and host Danu Innasithamby has filed a Police complaint against Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika De Silva. The complaint was filed accusing Pushpika of threatening him over the telephone.
