ICC says sorry over mishap

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has apologized over the mishap which occurred while the Sri Lankan National Flag was paraded onto the field at the ICC Champions Trophy in England.

A Hindi song was played while the Sri Lankan National Flag was paraded onto the field, at the opening ceremony of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy.

Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket, Nishantha Ranatunga raised concerns over the incident with the ICC.

Sri Lanka Cricket says the ICC Tournament Director Chris Tetley has now written to the cricket board regretting the incident.

He has said the ICC will take this matter for discussion with the event management company who were entrusted to handle the opening ceremony. (Colombo Gazette)
