A delegation representing the Indian opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, visited Jaffna today and had talks with EPDP leader Minister Douglas Devananda.
The delegation was welcomes at the Palaly airport by the Minister after which they toured the town.
According to the EPDP media unit, the BJP delegation inspected several Indian assisted projects in Jaffna.
The BJP delegation, who are on a two day trip to Sri Lanka, is also expected to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa during their stay in Sri Lanka.
The New India Express had reported that the visit was being jointly organised by Ram Madhav, associated with the RSS as well as the New Delhi-based India Foundation along with the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies in Colombo. (Colombo Gazette)
