A Pakistan heroin dealer was arrested at Grandpass in Colombo while he was posing as a journalist.
The anti-narcotics unit of the Excise Department said that Mohommad Tafeel had in his possession brown sugar worth Rs. 5 million.
The foreigner had visited Sri Lanka on more than 20 occasions as a journalist attached to a Pakistan based news agency.
In Sri Lanka he operated from Grandpass distributing heroin to his agents, the Excise Department said.
Investigations revealed that he had operated as a crime reporter for the Pakistan agency.
The government information department has been informed about the arrest. He is to be produced in court today. (Colombo Gazette)
