Former Colombo Deputy Mayor Azath Salley said that he had discussions with the US Ambassador and Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka regarding concerns over his security.
He told The Sunday Leader that he briefed the envoys on his recent arrest and release and also discussed concerns about the failure by the government to give him security.
Salley says he fears there is a threat to his life as he does not have security.
He says he hopes to meet with the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) to discuss the issue.
Salley said he will also be filing two new Fundamental Rights petitions in court over alleged attempts to harm his life.
