Updated Covid health guidelines issued for January

Updated Covid health guidelines have been issued for the month of January, the Ministry of Health said. The updated health guidelines issued by the Director General of Health Dr. Asela Gunawardena will be effective from January 01 – 31. Health Ministry admits Omicron now spreading in Sri Lanka

The Health Ministry today admitted that the Omicron Covid variant is now spreading in Sri Lanka. Director of the Health Promotion Bureau, Dr. Ranjith Batuwantudawa said that the recent lab test results showed that the variant was spreading in Sri Lanka. Basil Rajapaksa returns after overseas visit

Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa returned to Sri Lanka today following an overseas visit. According to reports, Basil Rajapaksa returned on a flight chartered by Emirates airlines, EK 650.
