President pardons man who attempted to assassinate him

President Maithripala Sirisena has pardoned the man charged with attempting to assassinate him in 2005. “Ordered Presidential Pardon to a prisoner who was serving time for attempting to assassinate me in 2005,” the President tweeted. President Sirisena met the convict Sivaraja Jenivan?during the celebrations held at the BMICH today to mark the President’s?first year in office.
