Two killed in Maharagama accident

Two people were killed following a road accident in Maharagama this morning, the police media unit said.
According to the police, a vehicle crashed into a motorbike at the junction to turn into the Mahawatha road.
The motorbike crashed into the?vehicle head-on killing one person on the spot while the other person died on admission to hospital.
The victims were identified as a 19 year old from Piliyandala and a 37 year old also from Piliyandala.
Following teh accident the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle.
The Maharagama police are conducting investigations.

Seven Indians rescued from Sri Lanka return home

Seven Indians, allegedly working in hostile conditions in a Sri Lanka factory, were rescued and reached home at the Sujru village in India, the Press Trust of India reported.
