Two children drown in Wattala

Two children who went for a swim at sea in Wattala last evening had drowned, the police media unit said today.
The police said that the body of one child had been found floating near the shore.
The police said that a 13 year old child and a 11 year old child had gone for the swim and had been dragged down by strong currents.
The body of the 13 year old child was later found floating near the shore while the 11 year old remained missing.
Both children are residents of Wattala. The Navy is assisting the police to locate the other child. (Colombo Gazette)

Norway seeks to renew political contact with Sri Lanka
