Police probe Akuressa blast

The police are investigating the explosion inside a shop at Akuressa this morning, the police med unit said.
According to the police one person employed at the shop was injured in the explosion.
A special team trained under the police Special Task Force is carrying out the investigations into the blast, the police media unit said.
Investigations had found that a large?amount of fire crackers stored in the shop under poor conditions led to the explosion.
The Akuressa police are assisting in the investigations.

Namal Rajapaksa grilled by bribery commission on assets

Parliamentarian?Namal Rajapaksa was grilled by the bribery commission today on his assets. Rajapaksa said that he was questioned for nearly three hours on the money he spent when his father, Mahinda Rajapaksa, was President. He says he was questioned on the money he had to purchase clothes, food and other personal items.
