PUCSL approves the new electricity tariff

The Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL) has approved the new electricity tariff which would be effective from this month, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) announced today.
As per the new tariff, the existing Incremental Block Tariff structure has been changed to a Volume-Differentiated Tariff structure for Domestic (D-1) and Religious (R-1) and General -1 (GP-1) customer categories.
When the monthly (30 day) consumption of any consumer belonging to the above categories falls within a certain range (block), the relevant tariff for that range will be applicable for the entire monthly consumption, the CEB said.
