Another 38 coronavirus related deaths reported in Sri Lanka

Another 38 coronavirus related deaths have been reported in Sri Lanka. The Government Information Department said that the death toll from the virus has now risen to 1089 in Sri Lanka. The latest victims include residents of Borella, Negombo, Kurunegala, Mathugama, Nawalapitiya and Yatiyanthota. Court upholds UNP decision to expel some members

The Court of Appeal has upheld a decision taken by the UNP to expel a group of party members who had worked for another alliance while being part of the UNP. Nissanka Senadhipathi acquitted in Avant Garde case

Avant-Garde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi was acquitted today in the floating armoury case. He was acquitted along with seven others accused over the arms trafficking case. Nissanka Senadhipathi was acquitted today by the Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar appointed by the Colombo High Court. He was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department upon his return to Sri Lanka from Singapore in October 2019.
