Delay in construction of CRBC protested

The local farmers on Thursday staged a rally against the delay in the construction of Chashma Right bank Canal (CRBC) damaged by the floods. The protesters led by tehsil Paroa ex-nazim Sardar Imtiaz Khan Baloch blocked the Indus Highway at Paroa Adda nead Chaudwan Morr point and chanted slogans against the delay in the construction of CRBC. Nine inmates escape from Thaldena prison

Nine inmates escaped from the Thaldena Open Prison Rehabilitation Centre in Badulla. The Prisons Department said that 2 of the inmates were later arrested. The inmates had been fasting for Ramadan when they escaped. A search operation was launched to locate the remaining inmates who escaped. (Colombo Gazette)

Asia’s largest tulip garden in Kashmir valley was visited by nearly 130,000 tourists during the first ten days since it was opened for the public this year. Located in the vale of Kashmir (part of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir) and easily visited from Srinagar, the Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden is located in the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain, on the banks of the Dal Lake.
