Man cuts off ear of another in Pollonaruwa

A man cut off the ear of another man in Pollonaruwa after he suspected the man was having an affair with his wife, a Sinhalese language newspaper website reported today.
The Lankadeepa website said that the lady had gone to Colombo to attend a funeral and was returning to Pollonaruwa when the incident took place.
Her husband had got information that she was returning to Pollonaruwa with another man.
The husband kept checking every bus that was returning to Pollonaruwa in order to catch the man.
Eventually he had seen a man seated next to his wife in one bus and suspecting that the man was the one said to be having an affair with his wife, he cut off his ear.
The man who cut off the other man’s ear was arrested. (Colombo Gazette)
