Former captain Kumar Sangakkara became the batsman with the most number of Test hundreds for Sri Lanka after he scored his 32nd Test century today during the first Test against Bangladesh in Galle. Sangakkara went ahead of Mahela Jayawardene who had scored 31 Test hundreds.
The left-hander, who scored a brilliant 142 in the first innings, also became the fifth Sri Lankan to make a century in each innings of a Test after Duleep Mendis, Asanka Gurusinha, Aravinda de Silva and T.M Dilshan. The match against Bangladesh equaled the record of most tons in a Test.
