The Colombo harbor police have launched an investigation to locate six Philippine nationals over the murder of another Philippine national on a ship which was anchored at the Colombo port this morning.
The police said that the Filipino was murdered following a dispute with a few others on the ship.
The Taiwan flagged ship had anchored at the Colombo port early this morning and the crew had been engaged in a dispute.
The dispute led to one man being stabbed by the others, the police media unit said.
The victim was identified as a 37 year old Philippine national. The six suspects involved in the crime had then fled from the boat.
