The hot and humid weather experienced over most parts of Sri Lanka, especially in Colombo, will continue over the course of this week.
The department of meteorology said that except for a few showers in the Eastern province, mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of the island during the morning hours tomorrow (Monday).
Humidity levels are expected to be at a high of 90 percent in Colombo tomorrow and 95 percent in Kandy, Galle, Nuwara Eliya, Ratnapura and Mannar.
A similar weather pastern is expected over the next few days although there maybe rain in parts of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The department of meteorology said that showers or thundershowers will develop at several places over most provinces of the island during the afternoon or evening tomorrow.
There may be temporary localized fairly strong winds during showers and the general public have been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by strong winds, the department of meteorology said. (Colombo Gazette)
