Thilan Samaraweera resigns

Sri Lanka Test cricketer Thilan Samaraweera has decided to resign from all forms of cricket.
Samaraweera has informed his decision to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board in a letter sent today.
His resignation comes just a day after he was overlooked for the first Test against Bangladesh starting in Galle this week.
Samaraweera was listed as among the players who had signed the contracts with the Sri Lanka Cricket board this week.
He made his Test debut against India in 2001 in Colombo.
The Cricket board says it has requested Thilan to have a meaningful dialogue with the National Selectors prior to finalising his decision.
Thilan Samaraweera is scheduled to meet the National Selectors tomorrow.
