Elections for three PCs this year

The government may hold elections for three Provincial Councils this year, Media Minister and government spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said.
He said this while speaking at the weekly post Cabinet press briefing held today.
The Minister said that elections are likely to be held in the Central, North Western and Southern Provincial Councils this year.
The Minister also said that the Sri Lankan government will not hold Presidential early Presidential elections next year as hoped for by certain quarters. (Colombo Gazette)

Sri Lanka is offering concessions to Indian flights willing to operate flights to the Jaffna airport. Civil Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told Parliament today that Indian airlines have not shown any interest in operating flights to Palaly. Rebel SLPP MPs complain to CPA and other organisations

Rebel Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs today complained to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and other international organisations claiming that their rights in Parliament have been suppressed.
