ACJU to submit proposals on Halal certification issue

The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) will submit a set of proposals on the Halal certification issue to the Cabinet subcommittee appointed to look at religious issues arising in the country.
Members of the ACJU, speaking at a press conference today, said that they will meet the subcommittee headed by Senior Minister Ratnasiri Wickremenayake today.
The ACJU says it wants to facilitate peaceful co-existence among the communities and dispel unfounded doubts on the Halal issue.
It has also urged companies which have obtained the Halal certification to confine certifying products sold only to Muslims.
