President orders special probe

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has ordered a special investigation into the shooting incident involving The Sunday Leader journalist?Faraz Shauketaly, President’s spokesman Mohan Samaranayake said.
The IGP had been instructed to appoint a team to?investigate?the incident.
Shauketaly?was shot at by a group of unidentified men in his house at hotel road in Mount Lavinia.
Shauketaly?received bullet injuries in his neck and was rushed to the Kalubowila hospital and was later?transferred?to the Colombo National hospital.
The gun-shot wounds were?however?not life threatening. Eyewitnesses said they saw three men running away from his room following the shooting incident.

Missing Bandaragama businessman found while hiding

A?businessman from Bandaragama who was reported missing in Trincomalee was arrested today while hiding. Mohammed Nazreen, a 35 year-old businessman, was found hiding in Haputhale and was arrested by the police. Mohammed Nazreen was produced before a Magistrate and remanded till September 13.
