UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay says a date for her visit to Sri Lanka has not yet been fixed, Inner City Press reported.
“Let’s see in the March session when they come over if they’ll fix a date,” Pillay exclusively told Inner City Press.
She was referring to the Sri Lanka delegation scheduled to attend the UN Human Rights Council session in March in Geneva.
In November last year it was reported that Pillay will visit Sri Lanka in January.
Meanwhile in March last year Pillay had said that she is ready to visit Sri Lanka but her office is yet to fix a date.
She said that she had received an invitation from the government prior to the commencement of the UN Human Rights Council session last year.
Pillay had also last year sent a delegation from her office to Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
