Clash at Cinnamon Gardens club, 1 killed

One person was killed following a clash between two groups at a night club?located?at Cinnamon Gardens early this morning.
The police said that the victim was a resident of Barnes Place in Colombo.
The police said that the victim was identified as 22 year old Premkumar Suren who is a three-wheel driver by profession.
According to the police, the victim had gone to the club together with his friends when they were confronted by another group.
A heated?argument had then ensued resulting in the clash. The police said they have identified the suspects involved in the clash and a team has been deployed to arrest them.

Multiple flights arrive in Sri Lanka as repatriation process continues

Over 200 people arrived in Sri Lanka today in a number of flights as the process to repatriate Sri Lankans stranded overseas continued. The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPC) said 14 passengers each arrived from the Maldives and India, 44 from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and five from Indonesia. SC rejects FR by students against cut-off marks

The Supreme Court today dismissed a Fundamental Rights (FR) application filed by 42 students who had sat for the GCE Advanced Level Examination 2019. In the application, the students requested the Court to issue a stay order against the cut-off marks issued for the enrollment to the faculties of Physics and Engineering in State universities.
