Australian opposition MPs to visit Jaffna

An Australian opposition delegation scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow, will visit Jaffna and meet Tamil community leaders, the Australian Associated Press reported today.
The report said that Australian Deputy Opposition Leader Julie Bishop will lead the opposition delegation to Sri Lanka to talk mainly about people smuggling.
Bishop will be joined on the trip by immigration spokesman Scott Morrison and border protection spokesman Michael Keenan.
The group will meet with senior Sri Lankan government officials and opposition parliamentarians to talk about the people smuggling trade.
Bishop has said that the delegation will also travel to Jaffna, where they’ll meet with Tamil community leaders and see first-hand the conditions under which Tamils are living.
