Opposition United National Party (UNP) leader Ranil Wickremasinghe received some complaints against UNP leader Sajith Premadasa forcing him to delay naming the next deputy leader of the party, UNP sources told the Colombo Gazette this evening.
The UNP leader today announced that the vacant seats following the party convention last month including that of the assistant leader and National organizer posts had been retained by the UNP members who held those posts earlier.
However he said the naming of the deputy leader, the post earlier held by MP Sajith Premadasa, will be delayed.
UNP sources said that the delay was as the UNP leader wanted time to discuss the concerns raised against Premadasa.
However according to UNP sources Sajith Premadasa is expected to be retained as the deputy leader of the party.
