Australia win first ODI against Sri Lanka by 107 runs

Australia have clinched the first one-day international against Sri Lanka by 107 runs in Melbourne.
The home side had an impressive innings courtesy of a strong performance by Phillip Hughes, who snatched 112 from 129 balls before getting dismissed from a Lasith Malinga bowl.
George Bailey contributed with 89, while David Hussey remained unbeaten on 60 by the 50th over and set Sri Lanka a chase of 306.
The away side took to the crease with Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan but it was a short-lived stint for Tharanga, who was dismissed for one by Mitchell Starc, and the slow start damaged Sri Lanka, who also lost Lahiru Thirimanne for a duck.
Clint McKay stood out in the Australian bowlers by snatching four wickets and preventing their opponents from building on their run-rate.
Sri Lanka were all out for 198 by the 40th over. (Sports Mole)
