The Bahrain has briefed Sri Lanka on the reforms achieved by King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa in the political, economic, social, and legislative areas in that country.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah who met with a diplomatic delegation from Sri Lanka headed by Ambassador CAHM Wijeratne, said that the Kingdom is keen to ensure the freedom of foreign workers.
Ambassador Abdullah also welcomed the decision by Sri Lanka to open an embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain in mid February, the Bahrain news agency said.
He stressed that the Bahraini government will provide all the facilities to ensure the acceleration of the procedures to open the embassy.
Ambassador Abdullah also praised the distinctive relations between Bahrain and Sri Lanka, and added, “Opening the embassy will contribute in reinforcing the bilateral relations between the two countries in all political, economic, social, cultural and tourist areas.” He also pointed out the role of the Sri Lankan community in the development process in the Kingdom.
