Four injured after train crashes into jeep in Periyamulla

Four people sustained injuries when a train crashed into a jeep in Periyamulla along the Puttalam road today. The Police said that the accident took place when the jeep attempted to cross the railway track when the rail gate was closed. Four people who were in the jeep sustained injuries in the accident and were admitted to hospital. Investigations into the accident are underway. (Colombo Gazette)

Military remains on standby to maintain law and order

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has reissued a gazette notice ensuring the military remains on standby to maintain law and order.
