A mysterious murder of a 70 year old man in Galle 19 years ago, who was initially reported missing, has been solved following police investigations and the son of the victim as well as the son-in-law of the victim have been arrested.
The police media unit said this morning that the victim had been killed by the son in June 1993 and his boy was them cut in half and hidden at two locations with the help of his sister’s husband.
The son had then three days later reported his father missing to the police in an attempt to conceal the murder.
However based on information received by the Galle Criminal Investigations unit launched an investigation.
Investigators have identified the locations where the body parts of the victim was hidden. The suspects are to be produced in court today.
