Former LTTE chief arms procurer Kumarna Padmanthan alias KP is still on the red list of wanted persons by INTERPOL.
KP is wanted by India over the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
However KP had told a journalist recently that he had been questioned by India twice on the assassination, once in 2010 and against last year.
He told journalist D.B.S.Jeyaraj that officers from India’s Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) had questioned him in Sri Lanka over his alleged involvement in the Rajiv Gandhi killing.
The INTERPOL warrant says KP is wanted over crimes involving life and health, Terrorism and crimes involving the use of weapons and explosives.
KP is currently involved in humanitarian work in the north. (Colombo Gazette)
