Young doctor reported missing

A young female doctor has been reported missing whike she was on her way from Matara to Hikkaduwa last evening.

Erandi Kulasinghe, who works at Matara General Hospital, left the hospital around 6pm last evening to go Hikkaduwa driving a dark blue Nissan March (KC 5160), her friends and relatives said in messages sent around today.

The last time she contacted her husband she had been near Labaduwa in Galle.

A?complaint?has been lodged with the police over the missing doctor.

Smoking ban to be expanded to all public places

The ban on smoking is to be expanded to all public places, the Chairman of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol (NATA) Dr. Samadhi Rajapaksa said. The Health Ministry quoted Dr. Samadhi Rajapaksa as saying that at the moment smoking is banned only in certain public places while in other areas it is restricted.
