Over 200 people evacuated in Kotmale

Over 200 people were evacuated in Kotmale following a threat of landslides.

The police said that 51 families consisting of 243 people were evacuated last evening over the landslide threat.

Of those evacuated, 19 families moved in with their relatives while the rest were shifted to temporary shelters in a school and another building.

The Kotmale divisional secretary and Disaster Management Center (DMC) has taken steps to provide dry rations for the displaced families.
